[Offer] I am skilled with tech repair (game consoles, phones, laptops, desktops), I can diagnose issues with software (OS X, Windows, and Linux), I'm very good with cars and repairs, and dabble in Bitcoin Mining. I'm also a nurse at a hospital if you have any medical questions
Lets say.. $1 per issue I solve? Sound fair? I'm self taught at all of those above (except the nursing part). I haven't focused on just "one" field because I'm too interested in everything. The only credentials I can provide (if you need proof) is this: I'm prescribed adderall. I take too many. I've filled numerous notebooks about the subjects above. Here's some pics if there's any doubt: https://imgur.com/a/fNPKl
Was mining Bitcoin in 2011 for a bit. Found the drive, but have re-installed the OS at least 2-3 times since. What's me best recovery option?
I'm currently on Ubuntu and have used gddrescue once before. Was hoping for advice on a more thorough or easier method. I want to use Linux for this task since my workshop comp is already running it. Thanks!

I'm just getting into bitcoin and it seems that there aren't any great bitcoin programs for mac. I'm looking at installing linux via bootcamp to mine bitcoin. Which version of linux would you recommend and about how much hard drive space do you think it would use? Also, any good programs for mining that have a GUI? I don't have any experience with command line
Posted this in /bitcoin first but was told that I might have better odds getting a good answer here instead. I have a MBP from 2011 with the following stats:
2.7ghz i7
8 GB 1333 Mhz DDR3
Intel HD 3000 512MB
and it runs Mac OS X Lion (10.7.5)
I've been looking around for a miner to run on this computer while it idles, and I have noticed that there is no many alternatives out there for a Mac. In addition, I seem to be running into problems using the ones that do exist, most likely because most of them are GPU miners and the integrated graphics card on this machine is fairly shit. I am aware that mining on this machine will never really give me much, but I enjoy the idea of having the computer at least try to do something useful. :) Both DiabloMiner and Bitminter do not work for me. The miner that at least seems to run is cgminer, however when checking the output it will show me an average hashrate of 0.0 Kh/s, and a certain number of "Work items generated locally". Anyone have any suggestions to what I could do to be able to mine on this machine?
